After many months of searing heat and drought Symi is finally slipping into cooler days, mist and drenching dewfalls. By cooler I mean in the high twenties, even up to 30 at midday, but after months in the danger zone above blood heat, it is still a relief.
This post is something of an experiment in that I am writing it on my new phone. My phone and camera were early casualties of the heat and my laptop isn’t happy either. I am sure sales of electronics must have soared this summer as anyone working outside an air conditioned environment was using them at the top extreme of their operating range.
Now if I can work out how to add some photos I shall endeavour to post is and see what happens.

So enjoyable seeing beautiful Symi out of “season” – thank you.

Thanks Adriana, glad to hear that it’s cooling down for you all. Hubby poorly this year, so couldn’t travel but hopefully next year. It’s wonderfully uplifting to see news from Symi 👌🏻
Hi Adriana
Glad you are well, I wondered what happened to your posts. Just letting you know that the pictures were successfully uploaded and enjoyed. Best wishes for the cooler months ahead. Its a tad cooler here in Leigh (between Manchester and Liverpool) as I had to scrape the ice off the car windscreen yesterday morning before setting off to see my grandson play football. The first ice of our season!
Looking forward to future posts
Best wishes to you & yours
Malcolm
I feel for you. Here in Cheshire we have had a horrendous summer in fact you could say permanent spring, mainly cold and extremely wet. If only we could share. Now we have winter, wet and cold
Must have been extremely difficult on Symi with those kinds of temperatures and not sure how anyone worked or slept for that matter. And yes electronic equipment would go iffy.
glad you are ok
Kind regards

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear it was so unremittingly hot.
Dear Adriana,
I love Symi. I miss being there. This is the first year in a while I have not been able to have at least a few days at the Aliki. For morning swims and scenes like this one…. Do you know these folks? The kids must be in university by now.
Thanks for your periodic messages. All the best,
